Red Rocks Service Trip ~ May 2003 - Located near Sodona, Arizona, this Sierra Club service trip was geared towards archaeology. Our group of about 20 helped the park service document this culturally-rich area nestled in the Coconino National Forest's Red Rock canyons. The inhabitants that lived here left behind a plethora of petroglyphs (incised figures) and pictographs (pigmented figures) dating back 8,000 to 10,000 years.
